With the release of Orion v4.4, enhanced reporting features offer improved formats with more customizable options which substantially increase a firm’s ability to better select, output and analyze data. An example of this is how Orion’s reporting system takes a collaborative approach in identifying, tracking and reporting on the source of new Matters.

As new Matters are being requested via Orion’s Intake Process, those that know the Matter best (legal assistants, paralegals and attorneys) are able to properly identify the source of the new business. This is accomplished by identifying what information needs to be collected, developing one or more custom fields designed to capture this information and then adding them to the “Intake” form in Orion. Once this information is accumulated, an existing report (Client-Matter Listing) can be modified to incorporate this information in either printed form or to be exported to other applications such as Microsoft® Access® or Excel® where custom sorts, groupings or graphs can be created for better analysis.
