How to Turn Off Auto Assign of Matter Numbers

To turn off the Auto Assign Matter Number feature, go into File Maintenance Manager and choose TOOLS, System Settings. Once the System Settings window is displayed, enter a -1 (negative one) in the Next Matter Number field and click OK to save your changes.
