Implications of Closing a Matter

  • Updated

The only thing closing a Matter in Orion does is prevent entry of new fee and expense transactions as well as Retainer Deposits (RDP) and Trust Deposits (TDP).  You may still print a prebill, invoice the Client-Matter, enter payments, credits, and write offs, and disburse retainer and trust money as RDS, RAP, TDS and TAP transactions.  You can also reopen the Client-Matter by removing the date from the Date Closed field in the Matter record.
