Disabling Auto Assign of Matter Number

To disable the Auto Assign Feature for the Matter Number, go into File Maintenance Manager and choose TOOLS, System Settings. Change the value in the Next Matter Number field to -1. Note that even when the system auto assigns a Matter Number, you can overwrite it before saving the Matter record as long as you use a number not already in use.
