Changing the Managing Attorney on Multiple Client-Matter Records

If you need to change the Managing Attorney on multiple Client-Matters, you may do so using the Global Matter Edit feature.  This feature can be accessed from within the File Maintenance Manager while in the list of Matters of the selected Client or from within the File Maintenance Matter Manager.  If you are making the change on multiple Matters of the same Client, it will be easier to perform the change through the File Maintenance Manager.  If you are making the change on multiple Matters under different Clients, perform the change through the File Maintenance Matter Manager.

Regardless of if you are using the File Maintenance Manager or the File Maintenance Matter Manager (File Maintenance Manager, TOOLS, Manage Matters), highlight the Matters you want to change, right click and choose Edit Selected.  The following screen will appear:


Click on the drop-down arrow to the right of the Managing option and choose the new Attorney you want to assign as the Managing Attorney. Click the OK Button.  The system will tell you how many Matters will be changed and ask you to confirm the change.  Click YES to proceed with the change.
