Records Management Searches - What is the difference between a Batch Search and a Subset Search?

  • Updated

A Batch Search allows you to perform multiple but separate searches at the same time.  Each individual search is displayed in the grid under a header showing the search parameters used.  A Subset Search allows you to narrow down existing search results by searching within the displayed search results.  For example, if you search for “Smith,” Orion will display all records found where the word Smith is contained in the record.  You can then perform a Subset search on the displayed results.  If you want to narrow down your list of results to those records currently displayed that contain the name “James,” you would enter James in the Search box and choose the Subset search option.  Orion will then search only those records currently displayed on your screen for the word “John.”
