Orion Law Management Orion Desktop Articles General Ledger Explain the Row Properties Options in GL Live Statements Design Mode Updated April 14, 2025 17:59 Hidden - if this option is checked, the group of accounts is excluded from the report. This option is used mainly in the design of income statements as you do not typically include Asset, Liability or Equity Accounts in Income Statements.Subtract From Parent - this will cause the amount for the group or line to be subtracted from the “parent” or total. For example, you would set up a Total Expenses line to be subtracted from the parent. Since your expense numbers will show as positive numbers (unless for some reason you have set up your expense accounts as credit accounts), you want the system to subtract this number from Income.New Page When Printing - choosing this option causes a page break right before the line or group where you have used this setting.Only Print Footer - whenever you create a grouping, you will notice both a Header and a Footer for each group while in the View Mode. This option allows you to suppress the printing of the Header if the statement is printed. For example, on an Income Statement, your final grouping would be Net Income (Revenue Group and Expense Group together). The Header “Net Income” will appear but you probably will not want the words “Net Income” printing at the top of your Income Statement. This option suppresses the printing of the Header.Flip Sign of Values - this option allows you to “flip” the sign of the values of an account. For example, you may want an account balance that shows as a positive number to actually display as a negative number. You need to be careful with this option when assigning to individual accounts within a group as it may change your totals. This option will be used mainly on your Cash Flow Statement.Hide When All Values are Zero - this option allows you to suppress printing of a line if all values of the displayed columns are zero. If you choose this option, the line does not disappear in the Design Mode but it will not be displayed in the View Mode.Disable User Expand - if you do not want an User to see the detail of the accounts included in a group (or combined accounts), select this option. Totals for the group would be visible but cannot be expanded to see the accounts that make up the group. An example of the use of this setting is the Current Year Income/Loss on your Balance Sheet. In most cases, you want the person to see “Net Income” only and not all the accounts that make up the number.Values From - this option is available in the Cash Flow Statement only and allows you to specify how to get the numbers for the line/group - Beginning Period, Ending Period or Period Difference. In a typical Cash Flow Statement, you will use Beginning Period for your Beginning Cash Balance, Ending Period for your Ending Cash Balance and Period Difference for everything else.
