Orion Law Management Orion Desktop Articles Practice Management Change Phone Number on Company Contact Record Updated April 14, 2025 19:59 Orion has an edit program that works as follows: If the contact was originally input into the system using the Associated relationship type, Orion will remember this relationship link. The phone number editing /checking program reads the phone number listed in Primary field on the associated contact record, and if it is the SAME as the phone number in the Primary field for the company contact record then Orion will change it for you on all the associated contact records once you hit SAVE and CLOSE.If you have a different number in the Primary (field) on the person contact record i.e. a direct dial office number that is different from the company number, Orion will leave the record unchanged. You would have to edit those manually if needed. Keep in mind some contacts do have direct dial numbers and you may want to simply leave this number as is - i.e. you may have an adjuster at an insurance company with a direct dial number who is linked to a number of clients. In that case, you would not want to change the adjuster's direct dial number. The mass change/edit feature will only work if the contact records were input with the associated relationship type and the current phone number for the employee record is the same as the existing company record PRIOR to attempting to make the change.
