Advanced Event Viewer - Changing Client Matter Relationship for Multiple Appointments or Tasks

  • Updated

To change settings for multiple Tasks or Appointments, you will need to open the Advanced Events viewer from your left tool bar. If the viewer seems not to be there see the article on adding the Event Viewer to the side bar.

Once opened, change your view to Filter. Now you will need to fill out this screen. If you are wanting to edit it for yourself, select Current Person under the Assigned window on the right. If you are doing this for an attorney you will need to select his or her name off the available field and then press the right arrow to move a name to the selected column. Make sure you change the option above to Select.  Fill out the date range and any other options you may want to use to filter and press OK.

You should have a list of Tasks and Appointments based on your filter.

If you were making Outlook appointments where you started the subject with the same thing for the Client-Matter description you can click on the "Subject" header and it will sort by that and group your appointments in order.

If you put your Client-Matter description in the middle or end you will want to go to Advanced Find. Fill out the screen with the description you used in the Outlook subject. You can also search the notes, just make sure you check the box "Notes" in the Search In area. Press Find. If you use this way to search, after the search is complete, right click on the Appointments and uncheck "Show Selected Only" to get back to a list of all your Tasks and Appointments.

Once you have list sorted or have done a find, highlight the records you want to edit by using the Shift or CTRL key. Now right click on one of the records and left click Edit Selected. If Edit Selected is grayed out you do not have multiple records highlighted. The below screen will appear, so select the Client-Matter to which you want to assign those appointments, and press OK.
