Orion Law Management Orion Desktop Articles Fee Entry Setting Fee Date Restrictions Updated July 21, 2024 12:10 Orion’s “Fee Date Restrictions” Feature can be used to help prevent Users from Entering Time, for a Previous Month, after your Prebills have been Printed. Once the Date Restrictions are in place, Timekeepers will not be allowed to Enter Time, dated outside of the allowable Date Range. Timekeepers will receive the following Error “Cannot Save Fee, The Date You Have Entered is After the Maximum Date of”, if trying to enter Time, outside the “Fee Date Restrictions”: Anyone with Administrative rights can change the allowable Date Range. To set your “Fee Date Restrictions”, access the File Maintenance Manager and choose TOOLS, Date Restrictions. The following screen will appear: Enter the Minimum and Maximum date you will allow for Fee Entry and choose whether or not you want to Enforce this limitation on the edit of existing Transactions. You may also enter Minimum/Maximum dates for Expenses. The dates entered will control the Date Range allowed for entry of New Transactions (the work date - not the date on which it is entered). If you choose to Enforce these Restrictions while editing, the User will also be unable to edit any field, other than the Description field, on a Transaction that contains a date outside the Date Range specified. If “Fee Date Restrictions” are applied, but a User is still able to enter "Old" Time, there are a few things to consider: Note: Date Restrictions do not apply to individuals set up as Unrestricted Users Was this article helpful?
